It was a heartwarming grand opening on Friday for Strathroy’s newest community garden, at Spence Drive and Park Street. In honor of the Falconer family’s generous contribution to the project, the garden will now be known as the Arda Falconer Memorial Community Garden. Shawn Bilinski spoke to myFM on behalf of the family.
Shawn and his family couldn’t be happier with the result.
We caught up with Jesse, representing the students from Holy Cross Secondary School who helped build the planters.
The municipality’s Darrin Dowding, Supervisor of Parks and Rec Facilities, oversaw the project, and also took time to speak to myFM.
The community effort also included funds from the Rotary Club, municipality, Telha E-top Metal Roofs, Trees Canada and Acorn Tree Service.
