Southwest Middlesex Council approved its 2025 budget with a net tax increase of 4.32%, equating to an additional $5.72 per month for every $100,000 of residential property value. For a home assessed at $300,000, there would be a monthly tax increase of $17.15.
The budget also allocates $3.8 million for critical capital projects, supporting major sanitary and stormwater system upgrades, also the continued operation of the Glencoe Pool thanks to $240,000 for pump and filter replacements. Also funds allocated to new LED lighting at the Glencoe Ball Diamond and the completion of Simpson Park’s revitalization, with a new gravel parking lot and accessible washroom deck, maintenance of the Glencoe salt and sand storage shed and the closure of the Limerick Landfill.
The final budget document will be formally approved by by-law at the April 9th Council meeting.
