
A rise in measles cases in the area, has resulted in the first confirmed case of the highly contagious disease in Middlesex-London. The Health Unit reported the case Monday following multiple measles exposure reports in London and Strathroy since late January. Health officials have notified everyone in the region who may have been exposed. Since October 2024, Southwestern Public Health has recorded 136 measles cases. People born before 1970 are generally considered immune, while those born in 1970 or later are advised to check their immunization records to ensure they are up to date.
