Adelaide Metcalfe Fire Department had a busy Tuesday, responding to a structure fire on Dodge Drive in the village of Cairngorm. They were assisted by Strathroy-Caradoc Fire, with tanker support from Station 3 in Melbourne and the station in Glencoe. Emergency crews arrived around 11:15 a.m. to find the fire had already spread to the roof. Fortunately, the sole occupant escaped safely, and firefighters rescued two cats from the home. Although crews managed to knock down the flames quickly, the fire caused extensive damage, ultimately destroying the home.
