The Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc is pleased to announce it has received a $3,794,477 multi-year grant from the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF). This funding, part of the Government of Canada’s National Housing Strategy, aims to increase the supply of new housing.
“This funding is vital in addressing affordable housing needs in our community,” said Strathroy-Caradoc Mayor Colin Grantham. “With CMHC’s support, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of families who call Strathroy-Caradoc home—or those who hope to.”
As part of its Action Plan, the Municipality is committed to initiatives such as:
- Developing incentive programs to encourage affordable and climate-resilient housing.
- Increasing flexibility for diverse housing types and mixed-use developments.
- Removing barriers to residential growth and development.
“Our government is committed to cutting red tape and removing barriers to housing development,” said the Honourable Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities. “This partnership with Strathroy-Caradoc is a step toward achieving that goal.”
This funding will help Strathroy-Caradoc expand its housing options and create a more accessible, sustainable community for residents.
