Just 6% of eligible voters in Ontario cast their ballot over three days of advance voting for the upcoming provincial election. Figures released by Elections Ontario on Monday show that almost 679,000 voters marked ballots at advance polls from February 20th to the 22nd, representing 6.14% of eligible voters.
The numbers are down from the 2022 provincial election when 9.92% of those eligible voted early over 10 days. Our numbers locally here in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex were even lower than province-wide. Elections Ontario says 4,898 people voted in advance polls in our riding and that’s only 5.33% of registered voters here.
