This is the President’s Club, brought to you by Jayden’s Mechanical and today we’re featuring Tim Boerma, the President of the Rotary Club of Strathroy.
You may know the Rotary Club for its Foreign Exchange Program for students, which Boerma says they’re VERY proud of. The two most recent exchanges involved local students heading to Thailand and Finland for a year where Boerma says they became different and better people.
The Rotary Club is also very involved LOCALLY, raising funds for projects like the All Wheels Skate Park and an upcoming community garden where they’re partnering with the town. Club volunteers are also busy working in the Women’s Rural Resource Centre right now, helping refurbish the building…painting, putting in new light fixtures and whatever the facility needs.
Boerma tells us the role as President is a three year commitment with varying roles in each year. The Rotary Club of Strathroy has been active since 1988 and if you’d like to find out more about it, head to rotaryclub.ca or join in on one of their meetings. They’re held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at noon, at the Libary.
