Former 105.7 employee and Perth resident Grant Deme is finally home continuing a long road to recovery following a life-saving liver transplant in Toronto. The current 88.1 myFM anchor spent 43 days in the hospital and more than two weeks as an outpatient in Toronto after undergoing three surgeries, total.
Grant shared with us that he is now recovering at home and hopes to return to his work and his active lifestyle eventually.
Support poured in from the community throughout his journey, with many following Grant’s story through his “Find Grant a Living Donor” (Find Grant A Living Liver Donor | Facebook) Facebook page. Friends, family, and complete strangers would comment, offering their support for Deme, which he says meant the world to him and his family.
Deme and his family has been, and continues to, encourage others to consider becoming organ donors by signing up at beadonor.ca. The staff at 88.1 myFM and across our parent company MBC Broadcasting offer grant sincere congratulations on taking the next step in his journey.
“Welcome home, Grant take as much time as you need to get healthy,” said Bob Perreault 88.1 myFM Operations Manager and News Director. “We can’t wait to see you back in the station when the time is right.”
