A two-vehicle collision involving an ambulance Monday resulted in three individuals being transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. OPP tell myFM, just after 5pm on Monday, they along with EMS and Adelaide Metcalfe Fire responded to a reported collision on Centre Road, just north of Second Street involving a passenger vehicle and an ambulance. Two occupants of the ambulance were transported to the hospital as a precaution. Fortunately, there were no civilian passengers in the ambulance at the time.
The driver of the passenger vehicle fled the scene on foot but was found by officers a short distance away. The individual was arrested and transported to the hospital as a precaution.
As a result, a 40-year-old of London, has been charged with numerous offenses including:
· Operation while impaired – drugs
· Failure to stop after accident
· Forcible Confinement
· Assault Cause Bodily Harm – Choke, suffocate or strangle
· Assault – Spousal
· Possession of an identity document
· Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
· Driving while under suspension
The accused was held for bail.
