January is Alzheimer’s awareness month, and during this month, Canadians are encouraged to learn more about dementia and its impact. Alzheimer’s disease causes a steady loss of memory and the ability to speak, think, and do your daily activities. You’re chance to learn much more comes Wednesday thanks to the local VON. Mackenzie Vickers, Program Coordinator for the VON’s Alzheimers Community Supports program says January is important to them every year.
She says the VON takes pride in creating a good positive environment for their clients.
Vickers says if you’d like to find out much more about Alzheimers, they are hosting an event next week.
If you’d like to register for the in-person or zoom event, call 519-245-3170.
