A local hockey team will get a chance in a few weeks to represent Strathroy and carry the Canadian maple leaf representing their nation. The Strathroy U12A Jr. Rockets are playing in the CCM Nations Cup in Detroit and will play in the ‘Matthews’ division against the Port Huron Flags, Allegheny Badgers, Kensington Valley Rebels and the Cincinnati Jr. Cyclones in regular pool play.
The U12A Jr. Rockets have been busy fundraising since the summer to raise money to help offset their tournament fees. This highly anticipated tournament is certainly one they have been looking forward to! Team officials tell myFM, they are proud to represent both their town and their Country. The tournament will take place the weekend of November 29 to December 1st in Detroit.
The team consists of the following players : Caleb Jansen, Patrick Naus, Tyler Maxwell, Colton Brown, Colter Furtney, Levi Watson, Jace Bush, Tyler Massa, Will Fletcher, Ethan Hockridge, Brody Bentley, Carter Parkin, Reid Koebel, Liam Tweddle, Spencer Pedden and Grace Periard.
They are coached by Jason Brown, Mike Pedden, Brad Fletcher and Lonnie Parkin.
