Last week, Enbridge Gas Inc. supported the Adelaide Metcalfe Fire Department by helping fund the purchase of firefighting training materials through the Safe Community Project Assist program. This initiative, in partnership with the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council (FMPFSC), aims to enhance training for volunteer and composite fire departments across Ontario in communities where Enbridge Gas operates. As part of a $125,000 investment this year, 25 fire departments, including Adelaide Metcalfe received $5000 towards those materials and Fire Chief Dan Parkers says this is very beneficial.
Onya Bialecki, Operations Supervisor for Enbridge London region told myFM it’s a good feeling to be able to help.
Chief Parker added this will really be an asset to his firefighters.
Adelaide Metcalfe will share in these funds, which are used to acquire educational materials for training firefighters in life-saving techniques.
Since its inception in 2012, Safe Community Project Assist has awarded 369 grants to Ontario fire departments, supporting the ongoing development of firefighter training across the province.
