It is the largest ever donation to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation and it comes from a local longstanding business and family. Bill and Lynne Gray, along with L.H. Gray & Son Limited, headquartered in Strathroy, have made a historic contribution of $2,200,000 which will fully fund a new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner, enhancing diagnostic capabilities for detecting, staging, and treating patients, and moving the SMGH Foundation closer to its $5 million pledge to the hospital. Construction for the MRI began in early April 2024.
In honor of this unprecedented gift, the Diagnostic Imaging Department at SMGH will be renamed The Bill & Lynne Gray, L.H. Gray & Son Limited Diagnostic Imaging Department.
Founded in 1934, L.H. Gray & Son Limited, a family business based in Strathroy, and the Grays have long been dedicated supporters of their community, having previously funded CT scanners, mammography, and ultrasound equipment for the SMGH Foundation. Their latest donation, which significantly advances diagnostic services at SMGH, underscores their ongoing commitment.
