Over the past year, the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre at the London Health Sciences Centre has achieved a 50% reduction in wait times for cancer surgery, to both non-urgent and non-emergent patients. This significant improvement is because of focused strategies and the commitment of a dedicated team.
As of March, an impressive 90% of all oncology patients have undergone surgery within the stipulated wait time, tailored to the urgency of their diagnosis. Furthermore, patients classified as high priority have received surgical attention within the recommended timeframe.
LHSC has a crucial role in providing comprehensive care to both inpatients and outpatients. Its services encompass surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy, complemented by support services and the advancement of cutting-edge research initiatives.
