It’s NextGen Farmer day here at 105.7 myFM, where we profile amazing people making a difference in the community presented by Just Farms Realty Inc. Right now we are taking a look at Chuck Baresich of Haggerty Creek Ltd and Haggerty AgRobotics in Bothwell.
Haggerty Creek Ltd started in April 2001 as a partnership between brothers Chuck and Justin Baresich and AGRIS Co-operative, with a focus on serving the communities in four counties. Their farming background is deep-rooted, and they only recommend products they use on their own farms.
Their market includes a mix of small to large cash crop farms and specialty customers growing vegetables, tobacco, and nursery crops. In the Bothwell area, corn farming is especially popular due to the sharp sandy soil.
According to Baresich, the name Haggerty Creek has a clever meaning that comes from the area they service, including Dawn-Euphemia Township, Zone Township, Mosa Township, and Aldborough Township.
Haggerty Creek is dedicated to delivering top-notch service, backed by experienced staff familiar with the region and its residents. They prioritize being available for our customers when others aren’t and finding solutions to their needs. Their approach encompasses the entire farm cycle, starting with meticulous planning and application and culminating in grain handling and marketing.
In 2001, Haggerty Creek built a permanent storage capacity of 270,000 bushels with an unload capacity of 10,000 bushels per hour. In 2008, they added a temporary corn storage area with a capacity of 400,000 bushels. Then, in 2012, another 400,000 bushels of permanent grain storage was added.
On the other side of the business at Haggerty AgRobotics, they stand at the forefront of the emerging agriculture robotics and automation sector. Over the years, Baresich, the Founder and President, has dedicated extensive effort to researching and testing different technologies within the Haggerty Creek farming operation.
Haggerty AgRobotics is forging partnerships with top agricultural technology firms to introduce and commercialize cutting-edge innovations for farmers across Eastern Canada.
Haggerty Creek has been around for some time now and has become a well known name in the Agriculture sector, and that is not something that just happens overnight. Baresich attributes one particular trait to the business’ success.
