Excitement brews in our baseball-loving community as Strathroy-Caradoc is a finalist for the Blue Jays Care Foundation Field of Dreams grant. Supervisor of Recreation Programs and Community Liaison for Strathroy-Caradoc, Paul Lattimore told myFM News the municipality is inviting the public to come together hopefully to celebrate.
The success of this event relies heavily on community participation! They urge all baseball lovers, families, and supporters to join us for this momentous occasion. Despite the short notice, they are determined to make this celebration a success as the watch party will be at the Blue pad at Gemini April 30th..
Attendees are encouraged to don Blue Jays gear or wear blue attire to show solidarity with baseball dreams. Remember, the event will be filmed for potential broadcast on Sportsnet if we emerge victorious in securing the grant.
Reflecting on the impact of past grants, in 2023 alone, 15 organizations from across the country received over $1.5 million in funding, leading to the development, enhancement, or renovation of local baseball diamonds and safe play areas. Over the past decade, Jays Care has invested nearly $15 million in 163 Field Of Dreams projects, making a significant difference in communities nationwide.
Let’s come together, wear blue with pride, and hope for a home run as we await the decision on this transformative grant opportunity for our baseball community.
The event will be held in the Blue Pad at the Gemini Sportsplex starting at 6pm.
