Recently myFM received a news tip that there may be some staffing cuts coming down the pipe at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital. The tip stated that the hospital Board of Directors recently “made some decisions to reduce local service and it’s been kept quiet. 2nd floor.”
myFM reached out immediately to President and CEO of the Middlesex Hospital Alliance Julie McBrien for comment. McBrien did not hesitate responding and quieting this rumour, “Health human resource shortages are still a struggle everywhere. Our staff are our most treasured resource, there are no staffing cuts planned for SMGH, including the 2nd floor.”
McBrien went on to say “We are constantly apprising our Board of Directors about our programs and services, which always aim to provide our community the best possible care. The MHA is committed to engagement and communication. Any changes to our programs and services would be communicated to our stakeholder groups, including our community.”
