DKMB Minor Baseball registration is open now until February 29th. They offer opportunities for kids ages 4 and up including blastball, hardball and girls fastball. New this year- girls fastball teams are now starting at U9. Register online at dkmb.ca by February 29 to avoid a late fee.
If you are looking to be a part of this years Home, Garden a Leisure Show hosted by 105.7 myFM and presented by Sutton Wolf Realty we are still looking for vendors to join the show. You can fill out a form to get a booth here.
Today there is a Play and Learn Free drop-in program for families with children 0-6 years old at the Middlesex County Library in Ilderton and Strathroy, both from 9am-11am. Each Play & Learn program will offer a play-based learning opportunity. Activities planned by EarlyON facilitators encourage positive parent and child interaction and inspire play and learning! Ailsa Craig Storytime taking place today at the library in Ailsa Craig. Join staff every Thursday for stories, songs, rhymes and fun! All are welcome.
In Melbourne, it’s Pins & Needles, Craft and Chat Group day from 2:30pm-3:30pm at the library. Join staff for crafting and conversation at the Melbourne Library! Bring your own fiber arts project (knitting, crochet, etc) – all skill levels welcome.
Tomorrow, ‘I Can Buy Myself Flowers’ is taking place at the Rusty Wrench in Strathroy from 7pm-9pm. Make your own plans this Valentine’s Day. Hosted by the amazing Green Bee Floral Company, come learn how to build a mason jar arrangement and create your own gorgeous gift to yourself!
In local sports:
Tomorrow, the Strathroy Jets host their final game of the regular season at home against the Tilbury Bluebirds. The Jets are looking to head into playoffs on a high note so this game will be an important one! Friday is also First Responder night. The Jets will be teaming up with local first responders to collect food for the local food bank. Entry to the game will be free if you bring a canned good.
Another local hockey team in action tomorrow as the Mount Brydges Bulldogs take on Port Stanley at the Tri-Town Ice Arena in Mount Brydges. Puck Drop is set for 8:30pm.
On Saturday, the North Middlesex Stars take on Petrolia at the North Middlesex and District Arena. Puck Drop is set for 8pm.
The Strathroy Rockets are in action once again on Saturday to take on the St. Thomas Stars, in a home game at the West Middlesex Memorial Centre. Puck drop is set for 7:30pm.
If you feel you have what it takes to play with the Strathroy Rockets, fill out a Prospect Form on their website as they are looking for new players to join them on the ice next season.
