High school students from Holy Cross in Strathroy have wrapped up a project that allowed them to work closely with local builders and gain hands on experience in home building. The students have finished building the first two homes, part of the Building Foundations Project which will be sold in order to raise money to go towards the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation to help provide top of the line care to all its patients.
The hospital will use the money raised from the sale to buy its first MRI machine in over 60 years. The land for the project was given to the project a couple of years ago by the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc, and in total six semi-detached homes will be built on Haddon Lane in Strathroy. This MRI machine will be a big improvement for patients in Strathroy and nearby areas, according to hospital officials.
