UPDATE:
Investigations continue into what led to yesterday’s deadly crash and vehicle explosion at a busy U-S-Canada border crossing in Niagara Falls, New York. Two people in the car were killed — including one from western New York — and one person in a border patrol booth was injured. A car hit a median at breakneck speed, soared through the air, crashed and exploded.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul (HOH’-kull) says there is no evidence to suggest terrorist activity was involved. She says the bridge will remained closed as investigators sift through debris.
Three other land crossings in the area were also shut down as a precaution early in the probe, but have since reopened.
