Negotiating teams representing Trent University and CUPE Local 3908 Unit 1 have successfully reached a tentative settlement for a new collective agreement. The agreement signals a significant step toward labor peace and improved working conditions for the represented staff.
Both the university’s representatives and CUPE’s negotiating team have mutually agreed to recommend the proposed settlement to their respective parties. The agreement is now pending ratification by the union’s members and the University’s Board of Governors.
CUPE Local 3908 Unit 1, which comprises 377 course instructors, clinical instructors, markers, tutorial leaders, workshop leaders, academic counselors, academic skills counselors, and lab demonstrators at Trent University, will soon provide members with information about an upcoming meeting to vote on the agreement.
The details of the tentative agreement will be made public following successful ratification by both parties. This milestone brings hope for improved working conditions and collaborative efforts at Trent University.
