The Queen Street Reconstruction project is looking like it’s set to move forward this week. Recently, Strathroy-Caradoc Council approved a Tender Award to Omega Contractors Inc. for $4,429,295.62 (excl. HST) and Council also awarded BM Ross and Associates Limited as the Contract Administration for the amount of $415,000 (excl. HST).
The project is set for between Carroll Street East and the CN tracks including Rosewood Court, and includes the upgrade of the local roadways from semiurban to full urban road standard with full municipal services and utility upgrades, and also provides the Fieldcrest Subdivision Storm Outlet.
It was projected to begin May 1st but according to Director Jake Strauss, it was pushed back a week, and tentatively will mobilize this week but the actual construction is pending a permit to take water with a target completion date of October 30th this year.
