For a few months, some Enbridge Gas customers didn’t receive their bills due to what the utility calls a “technical issue.” When customers asked about it, the company told them to pay what they thought they owed. With a hefty price hike though, when the bills were finally issued many found they owed hundreds just to catch up. We asked Tanya Bruckmeuller, Ombud with Enbridge if there should have been a warning about that sent to customers.
She adds that any customer who would like to spread out the payments to make it easier to swallow can do so. They just have to call Enbridge to arrange it. Also, if anyone received a late-payment charge, they can call to get it removed.
