Coming up this spring, the Middlesex-London Health Unit will be opening a dental clinic aimed at low-income seniors in Strathroy-Caradoc. Board Chairperson Matt Reid was quoted as saying they are hoping to have everything up and running in May to allow for bookings of Strathroy and area patients.
Funding is coming from Ontario’s Ministry of Health and is part of the province’s senior dental care program which provides eligible seniors with routine dental care, which includes x-rays, cleanings, check-ups, and oral surgery.
The location for the Strathroy clinic will be in the Shops on Sydenham mall, and with a price tag for the design and renovation proposal pegged at about $495,000.
The cost of the equipment, including delivery and installation is about $354,000, and the dental office supplies winning bid came in at about $140,800.
