After 2 years away, the Strathroy Affiliate of Crohns and Colitis Canada is hosting their Let’s do Brunch for the Crohns & Colitis Foundation November 20th from 10am to 1:30pm at the Strathroy Royal Canadian Legion. Kevin Eagleson, President of the Strathroy Chapter, tells myFM what Crohns and Colitis is.
Crohns and Colitis affects 1 in 140 Canadians. It’s an uncomfortable conservation to have for most people, but it’s more normal than you may thing. Canada has one of the highest rates for Crohns and Colitis. Eagleson says there is no rhyme or reason as to why, but some scientists believe it could be due to the environment, genetics or microbiome. There are studies happening world wide to figure out if it could be one of the 3 factors. Tickets for Let’s do Brunch for the Crohns & Colitis Foundation can be purchased at the door. $15 for adults, youth 12-7 are $7.50 and youth 6 and under are free.
