HydroOne is planning a power outage for Sunday that will affect residents in Strathroy-Caradoc. They will be replacing Hydro Equipment between 5am and 9am in Mount Brydges and the surrounding area. Crews will be replacing switches that have reach the end of their lifetime. These switches are critical to the safe and reliable operation of the system. Most of Hydro One’s electricity system was built in the 1950s and 1960s which means it is time to invest in renewing or replacing critical infrastructure in almost every community across the province.
The outage will affect about 756 customer in Caradoc and Ekfird. This will also affect Entegrus customers.
Below are some tips to help you and your family during an outage:
· Make sure your appliances, such as the stove, are in the off position.
· Make sure your cellphone and devices are fully charged.
· Use a battery-powered alarm clock or cellphone to ensure you do not miss any Sunday morning alarms due to clocks resetting.
· Keep your refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible.
