A four-week judge and jury trial has now been set but still just over a year away now in the case of 15-month-old Strathroy toddler Nathaniel McLellan who collapsed in 2015 at the home daycare of Strathroy’s Meggin Van Hoof who was arrested and charged 6 years later in 2021 with one count of manslaughter in the death. Tuesday during a court hearing, both the crown and defense agreed to move ahead to trial on November 14th, 2023 which is pending the outcome of a defense application to have the charge against Van Hoof stayed. Also on Tuesday, the judge set aside the full day of June 12th, 2023, to hear the defense’s application to stay.
