Middlesex OPP had an eventful Long Weekend.
On Sunday evening, OPP were called to an address of Victoria Street in Southwest Middlesex for a report of a disturbance. A 41-year-old from Alvinston was charged with 2 counts of assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
A traffic stop in North Middlesex on Grand Bend Line on Saturday resulted in a 48-year-old from London getting charged for driving while under suspension and failing to have an insurance card.
On July 30th at about 4:10pm, OPP and the Middlesex Centre Fire department were dispatched to Twelve Mile Road, Middlesex Centre, for the report of a farm vehicle, transporting hay, on fire. Middlesex County OPP assisted Middlesex Centre fire by closing the road between Hyde Park Road and Wonderland Road. There were no injuries reported.
On July 29th, a 33-year-old from Brussels was handed a 3 day suspension on Nairn Road in Middlesex Centre. The driver entered a RIDE program at which time OPP found the driver to have consumed alcohol.
Police are asking local residents to review their surveillance footage to possibly assist with an investigation. July 29th at 5:45am, OPP were called to the Dorchester Home Hardware for a break and enter. A lone suspect pried open a rear door and stole cash and a generator. The suspect then fled in a black Hyundai. The individual was wearing a camouflage sweatshirt with a hood, black pants, and construction gloves. The investigation is continuing.
