Middlesex OPP had an eventful weekend. On Sunday, a single vehicle collision in North Middlesex resulted in a 21-year-old from London being charged with drinking and driving after they drove into a ditch. The same day, a domestic dispute resulted in a 41-year-old from Middlesex Centre being charged with assault, mischief and uttering threats in Chippewas of the Thames First Nation. A day earlier on Saturday, an ATV collision sent a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old to the hospital after they ran into a tree. The oldest sustained serious injuries.
Middlesex OPP were called to Thames Centre on July 10th for a suspicious vehicle in a commercial business parking lot. Police located the parked vehicle and brought two individuals into custody without incident. A 32-year-old of Leamington has been charged Possession Property Obtained by Crime and possession of an opioid. A 40-year-old from London was charged with the same.
On July 8th, Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to Vanneck Road, Middlesex Centre for a two vehicle, fail to remain collision. Officers located the suspect shortly after at a residence in London, where an Approved Screening Device was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment where further tests were administered. No injuries were reported however a 71-year-old from London was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired.
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges.
