Strathroy newest recreational attraction is hoping to break ground in March as at this week’s Council meeting, it was approved that The Canadian Ramp Company out of Burlington will be doing the construction of the All Wheels Skate Park set to go at the Fairgrounds Recreation Complex. Director of Community Services Rob Lilbourne says the timeline will hopefully be mid-March weather depending with opening day being somewhere around the beginning of June to the middle of June.
The overall cost for the park construction is about $825,000, which is comprised a Rotary Club commitment of $200,000, an October 2021 Council allocation of $200,000 from the Community Build Fund formerly the gas tax fund, and also $425,000 which council had already allocated before that.
