With it being election day, its important to know everything you can about your riding, the boundaries, the issues that are important to it, and most importantly, who’s running for what party.
In Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, from the preliminary list of electors, there are 90,639 people eligible to vote. The riding includes Middlesex County (minus City of London and Thames Centre Township), Municipality of Chatham-Kent north of the Thames River (minus former City of Chatham) Municipalities of Lambton-Shores, Brooke-Alvinston Township, Dawn Euphemia Township, Warwick Township, and First Nations Reserves of Kettle Point, Walpole Island in the County of Lambton.
Since 2006 this riding has been Conservative, having voted in Bev Shipley in the 2006 election, until he retired in 2019 when the Incumbent Lianne Rood then ran and won that election. Prior to Shipley, from 1993 to 2006 the riding voted Liberal, for representative Rose-Marie Ur.
In past elections, the biggest issues this riding has found most important are small businesses and agriculture, as that is what impact these communities the most.
The candidates running in this election are the Incumbent Lianne Rood for the Conservative Party, Jason Henry for the New Democratic Party, Sudit Ranade for the Liberal Party, Jeremy Hull for the Green Party and Kevin Mitchell for the People’s Party of Canada.
