Well it’s a done deal and Whitey would be pleased. The Brock Street Barn, Sarnia’s oldest arena will be renamed Pat Stapleton Arena in honour of the Sarnia hockey legend and the late Strathroy resident. On Monday, Sarnia council approved the name change and sign design after it was agreed upon in June that it would be renamed after the Chicago Blackhawks defenceman and 1972 Summit Series Team Canada member. The hope is to have the change and signage complete by the end of the summer. Pat “Whitey” Stapleton died April 8th last year.
