George Thompson, a longtime volunteer at the Strathroy-Caradoc Museum has been awarded the Ontario Volunteer Service Award, which includes two certificates, and a trillium pin from the Government of Ontario. Over the past 5 years, Thompson has spent his Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at the museum, collecting just under 1000 hours, which he enjoys for a few reasons.
He also is a fan of the museum itself, as he finds it an important part of the community.
The Museum Staff said that they appreciate all of the hard work he has done over the past 5 years, and Thompson said that once this pandemic is over and he can return to the museum, he will.
