Strathroy-Caradoc Police Constable Mark Thuss for many years was the Community Liaison Officer, and learned a lot about educating and the impact he is able to have when teaching.
Thuss, who started in 2009 doing fire training and other educational courses through the police college, recognizes that when a kid from his class recognizes him years later, that’s a positive thing. While COVID has been a big struggle, Thuss is confident his Police force will continue to adapt and teach.
He encourages hopefuls to take a post-secondary program, and realizes he’s come a long way himself since his early days.
As for his time in schools as an educator, he says that was one of a couple of accomplishments that went a long way for the service.
Being entrenched in the community has not only been something he’s enjoyed, but also a big milestone.
He adds life changes all the time, however if you’re knowledgeable and honest, it will be okay.
