For the first time this season the Fanshawe Pioneer Village opened up on Saturday to visitors and to no surprise things looked a lot different as they will be throughout the next weeks and months. Public Programming Coordinator Alison Klages says some parts of the village has been closed off due to health concerns.
In addition their interpreters are going to be mostly outside this season when interacting with the public, and there are more restrictions in place when you visit. Klages says they’re working on workshop plans hopefully able to run in August while in the meantime continuing their social media programming. The heritage village will be open for by admission visits, Wednesday to Sunday from 10 to 4 until September 6th, then Thursday to Sunday through Thanksgiving with those same hours.
