Wardsville Golf Club opened its doors this past weekend much like most courses across Ontario after getting the green light from the province. General Manager Laura Van Dyke says there wasn’t a time slot to spare.
The course allowed one person in the pro shop at a time to pay or check in, then they sent the group along to the putting green until it was time to tee off. They had four designated waiting areas as well. Van Dyke says they also cleared the course, which is in pristine condition, of rakes for bunkers and other commonly-used tools among golfers. She called the return of the sport a big relief for everybody, as there’s about a six month window each year to earn revenue from the course, and it’s tough just as a golf lover to see the course previously empty on beautiful days.
