Police recover stolen fire truck. On March 12th Strathroy Caradoc Police tell us that the London Police investigated a break and enter where a decommissioned fire truck with an attached trailer was stolen from a secure compound in the City of London. The value of the theft was estimated to be approximately $75,000. Strathroy-Caradoc Police received a tip from the public regarding a possible chop shop on a rural property. On March 15, 2020, members of Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service with the assistance of members of The London Police Service executed a Criminal Code Search Warrant on Muncey Road, Strathroy-Caradoc. Police located the reported stolen fire truck and attached trailer. Two of the males were found to be dismantling the fire truck, and trailer and were in the middle of re-painting them when police arrived at the detached garage. Police arrested three adult males at the residence. As a result, two of the arrested males were charged with two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 and Removing a Vehicle Identification Number. The identities of the accused cannot be released until the charges are before the courts.
