Some people count sheep to fall asleep, but Ontario’s Wild Pig population is keeping staff at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry up at night.
There’s a push on in the Province to find out where wild pig populations are present across Ontario.
Jolanta Kowalski with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says there are several species of the beast, as well as hybrids.
Wild Pigs have been reported roaming in the southwestern portion of the Province, Eastern Ontario, and up North.
The beasts pose a danger to wildlife, eco-systems and crops- and less-so, to human habitation.
There’s no proscribed hunting season for wild pigs, but you will need a permit.
If you see a wild pig- or group of wild pigs, shoot a photo and send it in.
