Residents of Strathroy, Komoka, and Western Middlesex County are being warned to prepare for strong winds this afternoon.
Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for the area, with wind gusts expected to reach up to 80 kilometres per hour. The strong southwesterly winds are linked to a low-pressure system moving just north of the region.
Winds are expected to be at their strongest this afternoon before starting to die down later in the day. The gusts could be strong enough to toss around loose items like patio furniture or garbage bins.
Residents are encouraged to secure anything that might blow away and use extra caution if they’re driving or spending time outside.
