If you have yard waste, a mattress or an old chair to get rid of, some good news. The Strathroy Transfer station has returned to summer hours. That means the facility, out on Pike Side Road is open every Wednesday and Saturday from 8:30am until 4:30pm.
Beginning in April, the Mount Brydges Transfer Station on Mill Road will return to summer hours as well, and will be open on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month.
There are tipping fees for many items but some are free to drop off, including yard waste, scrap metal, cardboard, electronics and appliances.
