If you are a fan of art and displays and shows, you might want to head down to Museum Strathroy-Caradoc this month. The Museum has kicked of its March Art Shows with Katie Dortmans and Kristyn Box-McCoy being the first two artists. We talked with Museum Curator Michelle Wright.
Items will be for sale and Wright says this art show idea began a few years ago in the library.
She adds a request to the community for artists got the whole ball rolling.
Wright says from a museum standpoint, she is really excited for the Museum exhibit schedule for 2025.
Gallery A – Artists Katie Dortmans
Katie specializes in “Art After Life”, a practice of transforming what nature leaves behind into striking works of art. Using feathers, skulls and other organic elements, she breathes new life in the remnants, inviting viewers to appreciate the inherent beauty and texture of the natural world. Each piece is a unique fusion of artistry and nature.
Gallery B – Artists Kristyn McCoy
Kristyn Box-McCoy is a textile artist whose early love of colour and fabric has progressed into quilting. Kristyn’s quilts have been juried into international quilt shows, displayed in gallery exhibitions and published in Modern Quilts: Designs of the New Century.
