As myFM reported to you earlier this week, Strathroy-Caradoc received a multi-year grant worth over $3.79 million from the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation Housing Accelerator Fund. The funding is part of the federal government’s National Housing Strategy. Deputy Mayor Mike McGuire was very excited about the news.
Mayor Colin Grantham said in a media release that the money will go towards much needed infrastructure supporting housing. McGuire says locally, this grant has huge benefits.
He says this funding allows the municipality to move forward in focusing on affordable housing and helping developers establish those amenities.
The Deputy Mayor added the funding will be spread across phases equally over the term of the grant.
myFM will continue to follow the story as it progresses.
