Local resident, Hailey Brittain, and her Humber Hawks curling team are on their way to the CCAA Nationals again. The OCAA Provincials were held Feb. 6-9th in Dundas, Ontario with 6 colleges attending.
After a 5 game round robin, Hailey skipped the team to a great record of 4-1, losing only to a very good Fanshawe team. This record landed the team in the playoffs, where Hailey and her team played a very good game, making Mohawk concede after 6 ends, which put Humber into the Gold Medal game and gained them their spot at Nationals.
This is the second trip to nationals for Hailey, but her first as the skip of the team, and they are looking forward to competing against some amazing teams from across the country.
Nationals will be held in Lethbridge, Alberta from Feb. 24-28th 2025 and all scores can be found on the Curling Canada website.
Team members include : Sean Turriff (Coach) Kathryn Campion, Amy Johnson, Kyrsten Elson, Hailey Brittain and fifth Julia Stradiotto (not shown)
