The Public Health Agency of Canada has reported 61 cases of salmonella across the country, with 17 requiring hospitalization, linked to recalled mini pastries, with the affected Sweet Cream brand mini pastries were distributed to bakeries, hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, hospitals, retirement residences, and catered events.
Of the reported cases, 33 are in Quebec, 21 in Ontario, four in British Columbia, two in Alberta, and one in New Brunswick, and affecting individuals ranging in age from 3 to 88, with 61% being female. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a recall for Sweet Cream mini patisserie products sold in four-kilogram boxes and one-kilogram trays. The recall applies to items with best-before dates from June 17, 2025, through November 15, 2025.
