Local Junior hockey is now into it’s Christmas break but only until next weekend when some teams resume before New Years.
In the GOJHL, the Strathroy Rockets had a strong start to the season, but have taken a bit of a dive in recent weeks falling to 8th in the Western Conference even though they are 5 games over the 500 mark and just 7 points behind 1st place St. Mary Lincolns.
In the Ontario Super Hockey League (OSHL), the Strathroy Jets are currently sitting in 8th place out of the 9 team WOSHL division having lost 6 out of their past 7 games. The Alvinston Killer Bees are atop the standings.
In the Provincial Junior Hockey League, the local Yeck Conference remains very tight with Exeter atop the conference. The Mount Brydges Bulldogs have won 7 out of their last 10 games, and currently sit 5th in the conference one point ahead of North Middlesex who enter the break on a 2-game win streak.
And in the OHL, the London Knights continue their strong play currently ranked number 1 in CHL rankings and sit atop the western conference with 54 points, 5 ahead of second place Windsor Spitfires.
Some teams return to action between the Christmas and New Years break.
