It’s been quite a week on Parliament Hill, as Chrystia Freeland’s resignation from cabinet on Monday has encouraged some Liberal MPs to double down on their efforts to push Prime Minister Justin Trudeau out of the top job, he’s said to be contemplating his future. The turmoil is not lost on Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MP Lianne Rood.
Like many of us, Rood has been watching the drama unfold in Ottawa this week.
The $62 billion dollar deficit announced in the Fall Economic Statement also has Rood concerned. She says with so much turmoil, the Liberals aren’t able to focus on other important matters at hand either, like the threat of future American tariffs. Rood and other MP’s are now on their holiday break and the House isn’t scheduled to return until the end of January.
