A gofundme account has exceeded $180,000 in support of a local family who suffered an unimaginable loss this week. 7-year-old Dante Adriano Caranci passed away after being struck by a vehicle on Monday. Dante was hit while getting off his school bus at Longwoods Road and Murray Road. Emergency crews responded quickly, but despite efforts, Dante succumbed to his injuries the next day.
Dante, described in his obituary was a proud member of the Lambeth Lancers Minor Hockey U9MD2 team, where teammates are honoring him by placing hockey sticks outside their doors in solidarity with his family, but not stopping there as other hockey associations are doing the same including the minor hockey association in Orillia. 
A funeral service is set for Saturday. Police are seeking dashcam footage from the crash area to assist with the ongoing investigation.
