Strathroy-Caradoc Council received an update on the Mount Brydges Wastewater Treatment Facility Program last week, which is facing ongoing operational challenges, struggling to consistently meet Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) standards, while annual flows continue to rise due to development and aging infrastructure.
Council directed staff to explore several options, including converting the equalization tank contract to an equipment-supply agreement, completing an operational review, optimizing processes, and conducting an inflow and infiltration study. Council also approved working with a delegation and neighbouring landowners to address the facility’s future needs.
