The 62nd annual Strathroy Lions Club Ricco Foods Santa Claus Parade is coming up Saturday. The parade began in 1962 and the Lions Club took it over in 1981 and still run it to this day. Lions Parade Chairman, Gerry Smithers says they are ready to go.
Since myFM talked with Smithers, we have confirmed now over 70 entries into Saturday’s event. Smithers is taking care of the event for the first time this year and says its been busy but also fulfilling.
Smithers says the parade would not be possible without help from businesses within the community, volunteers and sponsorship from Ricco Foods and the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc. The parade is set to start at 1pm going down Front Street, and Frank Street, with a quick tour down Emily and North Streets.
