If you’re one of those people holding out hope that Strathroy will remain the nice little town you remember, you’re in for a rude awakening. The latest development for Strathroy approved by the county will see about 400 residences on vacant farmland on the south side of Second Street, near Adair Boulevard. Two other large developments are planned in Strathroy’s west end, near Saulsbury Street and Albert Street. Senior Development Coordinator with Strathroy-Caradoc, Jake DeRidder tells myFM Strathroy continues to grow in leaps and bounds.
DeRidder says they’re expected to house thousands more people over the next few years.
DeRidder says growth is important as along with it, comes added amenities people want. He says they’re also getting pressure from the feds and province to build more housing locally.
